Connections and sites
An agent can only use what you give it. Open an agent's Settings › Connections: its Services list shows what it can use, with Connect and Disconnect. Anything that sends, shares or deletes still follows its Rules.
Apps on your Mac
macOS asks your permission for Reminders, Calendar and Contacts. If you said no, turn it on in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
- Reminders
- See your reminders. Adding or completing one asks you first.
- Calendar
- See events in the Calendar app on this Mac (separate from Google Calendar). Adding one asks you first.
- Contacts
- Look people up. It can't change them.
- Shortcuts
- Run shortcuts you pick from the Shortcuts app. Each run asks you first.
Google: Gmail and Google Calendar
Choose Sign in with Google and allow everything on Google's page. Loom keeps the sign-in in your Mac's Keychain. Your Google accounts are listed in Settings › Google accounts, with which agents use each.
- Gmail: read your mail and write drafts. Sending follows your Rules.
- Google Calendar: see and add events; invites follow your Rules. Or choose see only.
Weather
Forecasts for your area. No sign-in needed.
Popular services
In Settings › Connections, the Popular cards connect in one click: you sign in with your own account in your browser. Every action starts at Ask me, and you choose which agents may use each service.
- Notion
- Find, read and add to pages in your workspace.
- Todoist
- See your tasks and projects, and add or finish tasks.
- Airtable
- Look up and update records in your bases.
- Calendly
- See your booking links and upcoming meetings.
- Linear
- Find, create and update issues.
- Dropbox (beta)
- Find and read files in your Dropbox.
Add your own by address
Any service that offers a connection server (an MCP server) can be added in Settings › Connections: choose Add a server…, give it a name and its web address (https only), and choose how it signs in: your account, in your browser, or a key from the Vault. Then choose its permissions and which agents may use it. It stays off until you give it to an agent, and new actions the server adds later start at Ask me. Remove server… signs out and forgets it; nothing on the server is deleted.
Folders
Give an agent a folder and it can read and save files there, and nowhere else. If you give it a very large folder, like all of Documents, or one shared with other people through iCloud, Loom explains what that means and asks you to confirm. Anything an agent writes to a shared folder reaches the people it's shared with.
Websites and sign-ins
Agents browse in a real browser on your Mac, on your own internet connection. For each site, and for each agent, you choose what it may do:
- Look and read
- Fill in forms
- Submit, book or pay
Each one is Always, Ask me or Never. On sites you haven't added, an agent may look and read, but must ask before typing or submitting. In a routine, where it can't ask, it doesn't.
To let an agent use your account on a site, add the site and choose Sign in. You sign in yourself, in a Loom window; the agent never sees your password, and no other agent uses that sign-in. It stays on this Mac, in its Keychain. Sign out removes it.
"Check you're human": some sites ask. Loom shows a card under Needs you; choose Open the page, pass the check, and the agent carries on.
The Vault
The Vault (under All agents › Vault) keeps numbers your agents may need, such as a membership, loyalty, policy or account number, in your Mac's Keychain. Every agent can use a number you add, unless you choose particular agents. An agent can also offer to save a number it comes across; you choose Save or Not now. Card numbers can't be kept in the Vault yet, and agents never offer to save passwords.
